Tottenham are lining up a potential replacement for Manchester United bound Dimitar Berbatov in the shape of Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz. Spurs boss Juande Ramos is resigned to losing Berbatov to United and he is now ready to splash some of the cash from that sale on Santa Cruz. (News of the World)
The Paraguayan international has impressed immensely during his first season in the Premier League, scoring over 20 goals in the process. The 26-year old is likely to cost Ramos as much as £15 million as Rovers boss Paul Ince looks to scrape every penny out of the former Bayern Munich man.
Santa Cruz would provide excellent cover for Berbatov. Roque will score just as many goals as the Bulgarian next season if he is to move to Spurs and another good thing for Spurs fans is that Santa Cruz is two years younger than Berbatov. I would be surprised though if Arsenal don't come in for him at any stage.
