Portsmouth have confirmed the signing of Swiss international Danijel Subotic. He is The Blues first signing of the January transfer window.Moving from Basle, the highly rated 18 year old striker should provide sufficient cover in that area for Pompey while the African nations are in progress. Their list of missing players includes; John Utaka, Kanu, Sulley Muntari and Papa Bouba Diop.
Harry Redknapp's side have been doing decent in the Premier League this season but they will need to retain that form while they are missing the above players if they are to have any chance of qualifying for the UEFA Cup.
Redknapp has admitted that the club are taking a risk with the signing of the 18 year old. "We've taken a gamble on him and hopefully he's one for the future... We'll just have to see how he goes." said the Pompey boss
