Liverpool are set to make an approach for Porto defender Bruno Alves according to reports in the Mirror today. The Reds are thought to be looking for cover in the centre half area which Alves would provide.Alves joined the Portuguese side in 2005 from Aek Athens and has made 31 appearances since, managing two goals as well.
I don't know too much about this lad, but from various reports which I have seen he seems to be solid in the centre half position and would be sufficient cover for Agger and Carragher.
