Newcastle, Man City and West Ham are set to battle it out for Barca striker Eidur Gudjohnsen in the January transfer window according to reports in The Sun today.Gudjohnsen joined the La Liga side in 2006 from Chelsea but has struggled slightly to get his place in the starting eleven ever since. With the presence of Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Messi and now three Barca new boys in Giovani, Bojan and Henry, the Icelandic striker has been forced to play a midfield role at the club, but only when Xavi and Iniesta are out.
The 29 year old has been linked with a move back to the Premier League and it appears as though the rumours may just come through this January. After his goal scoring ability which he displayed at Chelsea I am sure there will be a whole host of clubs looking to snatch him up.
The names being mentioned are; City, Newcastle and West Ham and I think that for the right price, Gudjohnsen would be a great signing for any of them.
