It has been reported in the Daily Telegraph today that Arsenal are after AC Milan midfielder Yoann Gourcuff. Gourcuff has been labelled by many "the new Zidane" and with only 21 appearances last season some feel he may yet leave the Itlian giants.This season he has been forced to sit on the bench and wait his chance but thats not the place for a potential super star. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is said to be a keen admirer of the 21-year old and has been linked with making a £15 million bid for him in January.
I have seen Gourcuff a couple of times now for AC, as a substitute, and I have seen glimpses of pure magic. The French under-21 international joined AC back 2006 after a successful stint at French side Rennes.
I would love to see Gourcuff join the Premier League because it would be interesting to see how he develops. I feel with the right guidance he has the potential to, in fact, become half the player Zidane was, and that as you all know would be terrific.
