Everton are set to make an approach for Valencia captain, David Albelda in the January transfer window according to reports in several of today's newspapers.Albelda is a defensive midfielder and has captained the La Liga side since the departure of Gaizka Mendieta from the set up. He also plays for the Spanish national team for which he has made 46 appearances.
Everton are thought to be targeting the Valencia number 6 as a replacement for the aging Lee Carsley who turns 34 in February. I think Albelda would be a great signing for the Toffees, especially for the rumoured price tag of £4 million.
