Blackburn and Newcastle are both set to make approaches for South African winger Lance Davids in the January transfer window according to reports in the Daily Mail today.Davids currently plays for Swedish side Djurgardens IF, he joined that club at the start of the 2006 season from 1860 Munchen, where he stuggled to get his place in the starting line up.
The 22 year old is versatile in his playing positions as he is equally capable at full back as well as on the wing. He has also made 6 appearances for the South African national side.
It is thought that Blackburn are favourites to snatch up Davids with the presence of fellow South Africans, Benni McCarthy and Aaron Mokoena at the club, but he is also on Newcastle's new year shopping list.
