Tottenham are set to make an approach for Ajax keeper Maarten Stekelenburg in the January transfer window according to reports in The Daily Star today.Stekelenburg has appeared 100 times for his club even though he only became a first team regular in the 2005/2006 season. The 25 year old has also appeared 10 times for his home nation of Holland.
Spurs have had severe goalkeeper problems this season with several poor performances from Paul Robinson in goal, and are expected to put a bid in for the Dutch international. The 6' 5" keeper is expected to cost the London club between £5 million and £6 million.
