Spurs have won the race to sign Lyon striker Fred according to reports in The Sun today. Portsmouth and Spurs were both thought to have bids accepted earlier in the week but in an interview, Pompey manager, Harry Redknapp said, "Fred? Fred who? There is no way we can afford Fred at Lyon." However Middlesbrough have also been strongly linked with the Brazilian striker.
