Arsenal could be about to make a sensational £50 million move for Valencia striker David Villa. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been told he has money to spend in January and he is now preparing to move for Villa who is more than likely to leave La Liga come the new year.
Valencia are currently in massive financial trouble and will be forced to sell players like Villa once the transfer window opens on January 1st in order to survive. The Spanish international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City in recent weeks, however it is understood that Villa would prefer a move to the Emirates.
Arsenal are desperate to strengthen their squad in January in a bid to keep alive any chance of winning the Premier League title this season. Villa, 27, is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world at the moment and has scored an impressive 82 goals during his time at Valencia.
Personally, I would be delighted should Villa decide to come the England in January. I have always rated Villa very highly and there is no doubt he would improve Arsenal. I would be surprised to see Wenger spend such a large amount of money on one player, simply because he doesn't have a reputation of doing so.
