Italian giants line up Liverpool duo

Italian giants Juventus are lining up a summer move for Liverpool duo Ryan Babel and Daniel Agger. With talks over a new contract for Agger at Anfield currently stalling, Juve are ready to take advantage of the situation and offer the player the chance to join the Serie A giants when the season ends.

Agger, 24, is apparently demanding £70,000 a week, a figure which would double his current wages of only £35,000 a week. The Merseyside club are unwilling to cough up that money for the Danish international and a move to Juventus could be on the cards.

Meanwhile, Ryan Babel is another player who Juve boss Claudio Ranieri is keen to bring to Italy. The Dutch international has struggled to nail down a place in Rafa Benitez' starting eleven since his £11 million move from Ajax back in 2007. He was recently linked with a January return to Ajax, however Liverpool prevented the move from going ahead which leaves the door open for Juve.

I personally think, should Liverpool receive an offer of around the £20 million mark for the pair they would be mad not to accept. Babel has done nothing for me since moving to the Premier League and Agger looks a shadow of the player he was 18 months ago this campaign. Make sure to stay tuned to Football Corner over the busy weeks ahead.
