Robbie Keane was the hero at Anfield today as Liverpool beat Bolton 3-0 to move back to the top of the Premier League. The Merseyside club had briefly been replaced at the top of the table after Chelsea beat West Brom 2-0 in one of the earlier kick-off's.
Albert Riera put Liverpool ahead 25 minutes into proceedings with a beautiful volley past Jussi Jaaskelainen. It wasn't until after the break that Liverpool wrapped up the victory. Robbie Keane, who has come in for a lot of criticism in recent weeks for his sub-standard displays in the Liverpool shirt made sure of all three points.
He grabbed his first goal just under 10 minutes into the second-half when he fired home after a superb through ball by captain Steven Gerrard. The Republic of Ireland international scored his fifth goal of the Premier League season just moments later after some superb play by Xabi Alonso and Yossi Benayoun in the Reds midfield.
All in all a good win for Rafa Benitez' men. Bolton have been in decent form of late and on paper it looked a tricky enough game, however they made it look easy. This victory sets them up very nicely for their trip to Newcastle on Sunday, which should give us all a good indication as to whether or not they can go on to win the league this campaign.
