Spurs to forget about Given and move for £3 million England keeper

Tottenham have decided to ditch plans to sign Newcastle United keeper Shay Given and instead move for Portsmouth's David James. Given today ruled out any possible move to White Hart Lane come January, leaving Spurs boss Harry Redknapp with no option but to look elsewhere.

Redknapp is now planning a £3 million bid for Portsmouth and England keeper David James. Redknapp brought James to Fratton Park back in 2006 during his days as Pompey boss and he is keen to sign him once again. With current Spurs number one Heurleho Gomes failing to impress since his summer move from PSV, many people have speculated as to who might arrive in North London in January.

James, 38, is without a shadow of a doubt, one of the Premier League's best goalkeepers and I think he would be a quality addition to a Spurs side who have struggled for clean sheets this season. He is a very experienced keeper, who to be fair, only has one or two more seasons left in him, however regardless of that I feel he would be a bargain should Spurs snap him up for £3 million.

I recommend Spurs sign him and I also recommend you do to. James costs just £4 million in this season's "You the Manager" and I feel he is definitley worth a look. So follow the link below to enter your team to be in with a chance of winning some superb weekly and monthly prizes.
