It has been revealed today that Liverpool's Ryan Babel is interested in leaving the club, however Reds boss Rafa Benitez is unwilling to let him leave. The Dutch international has struggled this season to nail down a first team place at the Merseyside club and has even attempted to engineer a move to former club Ajax.
Babel, 21, has made just over 50 appearances for Liverpool since his £11.5 million move from Dutch giants Ajax back in 2007, most of which have come as a substitute. The player's agent, Winnie Haatrecht had this to say on the matter : "Ryan sits on the bench too much, he wants to play more and asked me to see if Ajax were interested in a temporary return.
"After we got an enthusiastic reaction from Ajax, we asked Liverpool but the club don't want to see him go." I personally would of liken to have seen more of the pacey winger this season because I feel he is one of Liverpool's best players. I am not surprised to see him asking to leave the club because he clearly has a lot of ability and there is no point wasting it every weekend.
