Blackburn are reportedly interested in bringing Espanyol defender Steve Finnan back to the Premier League. The Republic of Ireland international has spent six months in La Liga since leaving Liverpool for an undisclosed fee, however Paul Ince is now keen to bring him back to England.
The 32-year old left Anfield on transfer deadline day after falling down the pecking order at the club and has since only made a handful of appearances for Espanyol. It is now believed that Finnan is interested in a move back to the Premier League and Ewood Park now looks a likely destination for the player come January.
I always rated Finnan as a decent defender, although I think Rafa Benitez was right to sell him at the time. For me, he wasn't up to Liverpool standard, however if Blackburn were to sign him I feel he could turn out a decent little purchase. I wouldn't think that they'd have to pay much to tempt Espanyol into selling because to be fair, Finnan hasn't made much of an impact in Spain.
