Tottenham's move for Andrei Arshavin and Manchester United's move for Dimitar Berbatov look to be taking shape tonight after it was confirmed that Zenit St Petersburg have signed Danny Miguel for £24 million from Dinamo Moscow.
Zenit's Arshavin has been linked with a £20 million move to White Hart Lane all summer long after his terrific displays for the Russian national team the the European Championships. Juande Ramos is keen to add to his striking options after losing Robbie Keane to Liverpool last month.
So if Spurs are to finally sign Arshavin that will inevitably see Dimitar Berbatov complete a £25 million move to Manchester United. The Bulgarian international is almost certain to leave the club this summer after being left out of the Spurs side which lost to Sunderland yesterday.
I am really happy these deals look to be finally going through. It has annoyed me, and I am sure it has annoyed you as well, the amount of speculation about the pair this summer. I think Spurs signing Arshavin could prove to be one of the signings of the season and I am sure he will become a Spurs fan favourite within weeks.
