United move for former Chelsea midfielder

Newcastle United are planning a move for former Chelsea midfielder Tiago. The Juventus midfielder is likely to leave the Serie A giants this summer after falling out of favour with manager Claudio Ranieiri.

The Portguese international is nearing a one-year loan deal to St James' Park with a view to a £8 permanent move after that. The 27-year old spent just a season at Chelsea under manager Jose Mourinho and won a Premier League title during his time at Stamford Bridge.

I personally believe Tiago is a very good player who would benefit Kevin Keegan's side immensely. Tottenham were apparently interested in signing the former Lyon man last January but for whatever reason he didn't move to White Hart Lane, but I am full sure he will prove to be a good signing for the Magpies.
