Tottenham have today made initial enquiries about West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand. The England under-21 defender has been linked with a whole host of exits from Upton Park this summer, with Sunderland also said to be interested. (Daily Mirror)
It is thought that Ferdinand, 23, would prefer to stay in the capital and Spurs boss Juande Ramos is ready to make a £8 million bid for the player. The younger brother of Rio, Anton has struggled to find his best form at the Hammers in the past 18 months and is now ready to leave the club he joined as a teenager.
I don't really think Ferdinand is worth £8 million. He is a good player on his day but unfortunately for West Ham fans and indeed himself, he rarely produces his best form on the big stage. I personally believe Anton is worth more like £6 million and I feel Spurs would not be getting value for money at the price West Ham are asking for.
