Lorenzo and Spies Make Yamaha Disappointed

Both riders fell and failed to gain points for Yamaha.

Jorge Lorenzo failed to finish in MotoGP British racing after a crash on a wet track Silverstone Circuit, Sunday, June 12, 2011. Lorenzo who had taken the leadership position of the hands of Casey Stoner failed to control his Yamaha M1 when trying to pass Andrea Dovizioso.

The fall Lorenzo bring blessings for Stoner, who eventually came out as champions. In contrast, failed to gain points and Lorenzo widen the distance with Stoner in the standings. The Spanish rider is now only ranked second with 98 points. Fewer than Stoner's 18 points as the top standings.

"I feel disappointed because the accident was one of my own. Too bad for the team because they've done a good job throughout the week. Also for the fans who came to support my club," complained Lorenzo as reported by Stay on The Black.

Unfortunately for Yamaha, Lorenzo is not the only rider who crashed. Ben Spies as a Tandem Lorenzo also failed to continue the race after falling on lap seven. This makes the Japanese manufacturer's team failed to gain one point was in England.

"I fell quite badly on the back, my back protector in good repair. I was bruised and recovery may take several days. But I am glad that (the injury) did not deteriorate," said Spies.

Disappointment was also presented the team director, Massimo Meregalli. According to him, Lorenzo and Spies technicians have worked so hard to prepare the motor M1 in the best condition. "This is not the result we expected," complained Meregalli.
