Nadal challenged Murray in Semifinal

Nadal's injured left foot has recovered against Mardy Fish.

The rate of Rafael Nadal to defend his Wimbledon title has not been unstoppable. Seeded first stepped into the semifinals after defeating the United States Mardy Fish 6-3, 6-3, 5-7 and 6-4, Thursday, June 30, 2011 pm dawn.

Despite losing the third set, but overall Nadal had no problems to beat Fish. No visible signs of the left leg injury suffered by the world number one is against Juan Martin del Potro in the previous games.

"After the first two sets, I might play more defensively. But, I'm happy to step into the semifinals. It's like a dream for me," said Nadal after the match in an interview broadcast on Star Sports.

In the semifinals, Nadal will face fourth seed Andy Murray, who beat Feliciano Lopez (Spain) in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 and 6-4. Nadal was looking forward to facing the mainstay of the host.

"He (Murray) played very well. He's a fantastic player. He's a nice guy and we used to play Playstation together off the field, so we were close friends," said Nadal.

Nadal, chasing a third Wimbledon title after win it in 2008 and 2010 and the Grand Slam titles to 11. Semi-finals will take place Friday, July 1, 2011.

Other semi-final will bring together the second-seeded Serbian Novak Djokovic, against 12th-seeded Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who upset win over third-seeded Roger Federer.
